Hotel with many advantages for cross-country skiers - winter sports in the Dolomites
The Vigilerhof is located at the foot of the Alpe di Siusi, easily accessible, with connection to the ski area Val Gardena and the Sellaronda
Skiers don’t have far to go from the Vigilerhof: The Valley Station of the Seiser Alm cable car is just a five-minute drive from the hotel, and the ski bus stops right outside our doors. Jump in, and you’ll soon be right in the heart of the most beautiful ski resort in the Dolomites. Around 60km of slopes, making a total of 175km together with the neighbouring resort of Gröden, snake through the winter wonderland at the foot of the Schlern, the Langkofel and the Plattkofel. And alongside the perfectly groomed slopes in a variety of difficult levels, you will find breathtaking views, modern cable cars and a good range of traditional mountain huts.
The Seiser Alm also has direct access to the Sella Ronda, the 26km long famed ski tour around the Sella Massif. To get there, skiers should either ski or take the shuttle bus to Saltria, and then take the ski bus from Saltria to Monte Pana, where you can start skiing the Sella Ronda.

Exploring the seemingly infinite vastness of the slightly hilly, sunny mountain pasture is simply incredible on cross-country skis. Harmoniously blended with thickets of woodland and surrounded by the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, around 80km of trails in a variety of difficulty levels lead you over the Seiser Alm. The cross-country trails are either double or quadruple and suitable for classic or classic style, beginner and pro. The perfectly groomed trails are also much appreciated by the top Italian athletes, the Swedish team and the Norwegian team, who all come here to train for competitions.
The minute the snow transforms the Seiser Alm into a sparkling winter wonderland, the White Walking season begins! Over 60 km of well-signposted hiking trails invite you to tour the wintry countryside. On the horizon, the might peaks of the Plattkofel and Langkofel rise up, casting their spell over the hikers. The healthy mountain air, the crunch of the snow with every step and the peaceful silence accompany you as you tour the snow-covered mountains.
In addition to winter walking trails, cross-country trails and the slopes of the ski resort, snowshoes can also work their way through the deep snow and head into untouched areas of the region which are normally only accessible on a ski tour. Guided snow shoe walks are available almost every day on the Seiser Alm.
Not many winter sports blend sport and fun for old and young as well as tobogganing does. Just walk a few yards uphill and slide your way back down, stopping off at one of the mountain huts along the way for a hot cup of tea in a cosy atmosphere before the last downhill stretch. The Zallinger toboggan slope (4.7km long), the Molignon slope (3.5 km long) on the Seiser Alm are two of the most beautiful toboggan slopes in South Tyrol, and are particularly romantic on a full-moon night.
