The wide, sunny Alpe di Siusi is a cross-country skier's paradise, surrounded by small forests and framed by the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are around 80 kilometres of tracks of varying difficulty, double or quadruple track, skating or classic, for beginners or professionals. Top athletes from Italy, Sweden and Norway also use the perfectly groomed trails for training.
When the snow transforms the Alpe di Siusi into a glittering winter wonderland, the snow hiking season begins! Over 60 kilometres of well-signposted winter footpaths provide the perfect opportunity to discover the snow-covered countryside. The imposing peaks of the Sassolungo and Sassopiatto on the horizon and the quiet, peaceful atmosphere make every hike a special experience.
Away from the winter hiking trails, cross-country ski trails and ski slopes, snowshoe hikers can make their way through the deep snow to reach unspoilt areas usually reserved for ski tourers. Guided snowshoe hikes take place almost every day on the Alpe di Siusi.
Tobogganing is sport and fun for young and old. After the ascent on foot, it is downhill on two runners. A stop in one of the traditional huts is a must, to prepare for the toboggan run in a cosy atmosphere with a hot cup of tea. The Zallinger (4.7 km) and Molignon (3.5 km) toboggan runs are among the most beautiful in South Tyrol and are particularly romantic under a full moon.
